On June 17th, the JBA hosted the Next Generation Forum event “Lessons learned over the thirty years in the U.S. – continuously growing companies vs. disappearing companies” presented by Mr. Mizutani, Chairman and CEO of Nitto Tire USA, Inc.
The JBA plans to formally establish the “JBA Next Generation Forum” which provides JBA’s young members with opportunities to learn and network with other members. Through the JBA Next Generation Forum, the JBA will support the young members to grow further to next generation leaders bridging relationships between Japan and the U.S. in their respective fields by deepening their understanding of Japanese American history and culture as well as how Japanese companies are contributing to the economy in the Southern California.
On June 17th (Fri), the JBA hosted the Next Generation Forum event “Lessons learned over the thirty years in the U.S.– continuously growing companies vs. disappearing companies” presented by Mr. Mizutani at Japan House Los Angeles at Ovation Hollywood. Mr. Mizutani explained how he turned around Nitto Tire’s business and how we should move forward in the rapidly changing environment while he gave passionate and sincere advice to the participants who are either future JBA Next Generation members or strong supporters.
Following Mr. Mizutani’s presentation, the event turns to networking to deepen exchanges among participants. The event concluded with celebrating Mr. Mizutani’s birthday on June 18th (Sat). Many participants mentioned in the survey that they were extremely impressed and inspired by Mr. Mizutani’s presentation.
In the future, the Business and Commerce Committee plans to set up a group of young JBA members, and hold regular networking and study sessions.
